Kuala Lumpur, August 9 – The Audio-release of Prashanth’s new movie “Sahasam” took place in Kuala Lumpur yesterday with much pomp and glory with the actor himself performing a dance number on stage. But most importantly the audio-release function took place in the presence of thousands of Malaysian fans.
Prashanth’s next movie has created much expectation among fans and is expected put Prashanth back to the front-line again in Tamil movie industry. The movie is produced by Prashanth’s father Thiagarajan and is directed by Arun Raj Varma, who is making his first debut.
Thaman scores the music for the movie. Several scenes of the movie were shot in Malaysia.
Yesterday, Kuala Lumpur’s Brickfields area turned into a sea of fans as thousands gathered to witness the audio-release event and to show support for the actor. Prashanth has a fairly large fan-following in Malaysia and is frequently seen in Kuala Lumpur.
Sahasam’s audio-release coincided with the grand show-case event organised by Astro to promote their latest popular TV event “International Super Star 2015”. The finals of this event is scheduled to be held on the 15th of August in Kuala Lumpur with singers from 5 countries namely Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, Canada and India competing as a team to win the coveted 1st prize of USD 100,000.
Astro show-case event and Sahasam audio-release was attended by PPP President Tansri Kayveas , Astro’s senior Vice-President Rajamani Chellamuthu, Actor Nasser, Music director Thaman, and Vijay TV’s famous host Divya Darshani (popularly knows as DD).
“Sahasam” has a song titled “Sayang-Ku” which has been shot in Malaysia. The song is aimed at attracting Malaysian fans. At the audio-release yesterday Prashanth performed a dance number as the song was played on stage.
