LIMA, March 26 -Brazil and Mexico are expected to become the main markets for Peru’s garment exports this year, said head of garment committee of Peru’s Export Association (Adex), Pedro Gamio. He noted that garment exports in 2012 amounted to US$1.5 billion, a six percent increase compared to 2011.
Gamio said that Brazil and Mexico are showing a great interest in Peruvian garment sector and these countries could become the main drivers of exports this year. He said that Brazil is a great destination for Peruvian garment as this country has over 190 million people and cities with high consumption levels.
