PM continues to hold meetings with state BN, UMNO chairmen

NAJIBPUTRAJAYA, March 29 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today continued with his meetings with the chairmen of state Barisan Nasional (BN) and Umno liaison committees at the Perdana Putra building here.  The meetings, which began at 8 am, are believed to have focused on finalising the list of BN candidates for the 13th general election, due to be called at any time now.

Among those who were seen entering the building this morning were Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Md Isa Sabu, Penang Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Osman and
Perlis Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.  The meetings were also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Zainal Abidin, who slowed down his car as he entered and left the building, just said “All OK” to the 30 or so journalists who had been waiting from as early as 7 am at the entrance of the building.

Shahidan also said the same thing, and added: “May God bless you all. Long Live the BN!”  In the afternoon, those seen going for the meetings were Kedah Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and deputy chairman Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, as well as Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
