KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 – Malaysians have been urged to remain united and support the security forces in defending the country’s sovereignty. Information Communications and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim(Pic) said Malaysians must defend the country as other people will not do it.
“Support the government and give moral support to the authorities so that our security and sovereignty are not threatened by enemies from inside and outside,” he said at PDRM Operation Daulat donation programme at Police Training Centre (PULAPOL) here today.
Rais said efforts to defend the sovereignty and security of the country became more difficult with the existence of traitors within our midst.
“Traitors who come in the form of Si Kitul as told in Malay history exist in any civilisation. Its not easy for security forces to work in an environment where we are threatened from within.”
He challenged the traitors who hide behind the Lahad Datu intrusion to come forward and take responsibility for their action.
“They must be held accountable as society wants to know them. They can’t say
“we don’t know” because information received shows they have the intention.”
Rais also said the Lahad Datu intrusion had united Malaysians and increased the sensitivity of security forces in tightening security of territorial waters. Earlier, he presented the ministry’s donation of RM10,000 to widows and beneficiaries of police personnel killed in Lahad Datu and Semporna. He also presented 1Malaysia notebooks to 19 children of the national heroes and children of police personnel who excelled in their studies.
