2LAHAD DATU, April 1 – Police are tracking down Datuk Seri Muhammad Ridzwan Sulaiman(pic) to assist investigation in connection with Operation Daulat. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib urged Muhammad Ridzwan, whose last address was in Georgetown, Penang to surrender at the nearest police station.

Muhammad Ridzwan who is also president of Penang-based Al-Ehsan Welfare Organisation is not involved with terrorists but can assist Operation Daulat.

“Datuk Seri Muhammad Ridzwan is high on the wanted list. Those who know him can contact Rakan Cop or the nearest police station.

“He can assist police in Operation Daulat. We believe that he is now in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and may be Sabah,” he told a press conference at Operation Daulat headquarters in Felda Sahabat 16, here today.

Meanwhile, Hamza said that 180 people staying at placement centres were today allowed to return home. Some 101 were from Kampung Tanjung Labian, 25 from Kampung Tanjung Batu and 54 from Kampung Sungai Merah. Hamza said no fighting took place in the last 24 hours while search and mopping up are underway in Sungai Bilis, Lok Sembuang and Lok Buani.

The Marine Police, Malaysian Maritime Enforcment Agency (MMEA) and the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) are controlling security of Malaysian territorial waters.
