PUTRAJAYA, April 4 – Barisan Nasional (BN) candidates contesting the 13th general election will be announced seven to ten days before nomination day. Secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor(Pic) said BN chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will handover the candidate list to the state liaison chairmen.
“The state liaison chairmen will then handover the appointment letters to the candidates. We hope it can be done 7 to 10 days before nomination day,” he told reporters after ‘Kayuhan Patriotik 1Malaysia@ Putrajaya’ event here today.
The BN candidate list is at final vetting for health, financial institution, the police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Insolvency Department.
“Those on the list can give us medical reports issued six months ago. If not, they will have to go for medical check up.”
Tengku Adnan said BN is ready to face general election and just waiting for the Election Commission (EC) to announce the dates for nomination and polling. Najib will tomorrow chair a special meeting of Umno Supreme Council at 9am and special meeting of BN Supreme Council at 11am at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur.
“We will be launching the BN manifesto on Saturday at the Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur,” he added.
