Ponnusamy, 43, said he received the first threat through a telephone call at 8.23 last night asking him to keep quiet and not issue any statement against Azmin.
“I ignored the first threat from an unknown man as I considered it as a normal threat. However, when I woke up this morning and wanted to use the car, I noticed a note written in red ink using a marker pen ‘cpt (cepat) mungkin dpt (dapat) peluru’ (quick, maybe [you] get a bullet),” he said at a press conference, here today.
The police report was lodged at the Seberang Perai Tengah (SPT) District Police Headquarters, here at 11.30 this morning. The press yesterday reported that the allegation on the video issue purportedly involving PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah was believed to be masterminded by the Azmin supporters’ camp to prevent Nurul Izzah and PKR president Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail from controlling the party.
Ponnusamany was reported to have asked the Gombak Member of Parliament to stop attacking Wan Azizah through the political secretary of the PKR Wanita head, Mohd Fareez Kamal Intidzam who had previously issued many rude statements against the PKR president. Meanwhile, SPT OCPD, ACP Azman Abd Lah confirmed that the police had received a police report on the incident and further investigation was being carried out.
