pint_copy1KUALA LUMPUR, April 8- PINTAR Foundation, a corporate responsibility initiative mooted by Khazanah Nasional Bhd, aims to increase its educational outreach to 200 schools in Peninsular Malaysia by year-end for its second Promoting Intelligence, Nurturing Talent and Advocating Responsibility (Pintar) programme.

The newly launched Pintar mobile learning unit (PMLU) themed “Nurturing Talent” is a travelling exhibit that features curriculum-based, hands-on activities and information on career opportunities in medicine, sound  engineering, aviation, photography, culinary arts and sports. Board of Trustees chairman Tan Sri Arshad Ayub said the new PMLU will help underserved students with the right knowledge and social adaptability skills, whilst giving them the confidence they need to excel in school and in life.

“Under the new theme, the PMLU will travel to all Pintar schools throughout Peninsular Malaysia starting this month,” he told reporters at the launch of the new PMLU here today. He said the mobile learning unit will make pit stops at all Pintar schools in the rural areas as well as orphanages, bringing with it fun and experiential learning.

“The PMLU bus is customised into several learning stations featuring various interactive technology and fun activities for the students.

“It also aims to help all underserved students realise their full potential as they graduate into adulthood, bringing along with them the passion and vision to build a better tomorrow,” he said.

Arshad said currently Pintar has one bus for the new theme that will be operating from today, and will add another bus by next month. There are 297 Pintar schools nationwide and more than 500,000 students have benefited from Pintar activities.
