KOTA BAHARU, April 11 – Pasir Mas Member of Parliament Datuk Ibrahim Ali(pic) today declared that he would defend his seat in the coming 13th General Election (GE13).
For the purpose of defending his seat, he said he would take leave from being the President of Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) starting today until the end of GE13. During his interim leave, his deputy Datuk Abdul Rahman Bakar would be the acting president.
“Under which ticket I will be contesting will be known on nomination day or the day before. I do not want to speculate,” he told reporters, today.
He added that if chosen to contest under the Barisan Nasional (BN) banner, it would be a honour for him because he intends to continue serving the peopleof Pasir Mas. In the 12th General Election, Ibrahim who contested under PAS beat BN candidate Ahmad Rosdi Mahamad by a 8,991-vote majority.
