SIBU, April 18 – The nation under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has achieved great progress and development in the last four years since he took over the helm of the government. For this reason, Najib must be given every support in the 13th general election so that he could continue to lead the nation to greater heights.
Sarawak’s Second Resource Planning and Environment Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said this at a dinner for more than 100 Special Affairs Department (JASA) personnel from throughout the state, here last night. He said Najib’s many transformation initiatives covering the economy, education, administration, legal system and others, including his 1Malaysia concept especially, were indicative of his great leadership.
At the dinner, Awang Tengah also reminded JASA officers and grassroot leaders that efforts must be sustained and in fact heigthtened to ensure that the state continued to be the “Fixed Deposit” for the Barisan Nasional government. He was glad to note that Sarawakians had so far rejected the rough tactics of the opposition, especially those from the penisular-based political parties, in trying to woo them over.
He said despite being criticised endlessly, the government’s many programmes for the people had proven to be very beneficial. Awang Tengah also said JASA officers, as the government frontliners, must play their roles in getting the people to turn out in full force to cast their votes.
