sabaki-sliderAPRIL 20- PAS’ central committee will meet on Monday for a discussion on clashes with PKR in seven seats, said the party’s assistant secretary-general Ahmad Sabki Yusof (photo).

“Following this, we urge party members and Pakatan Rakyat to remain calm until a decision has been reached by the party’s highest leadership this Monday,” said Ahmad Sabki in a press release.

PAS and PKR fielded candidates to contest for the Labuan Parliamentary seat and the state assembly seats of Sungai Aceh (Penang), Panti (Johor), Kota Damansara (Selangor), Bukit Besi, Kota Putera and Seberang Takir in Terengganu.

It is understood that there are maneuvers by the two parties to convince each other to withdraw in some of these seats, particularly in the case of Kota Damansara.

PSM chairperson Dr Nasir Hashim is contesting in Kota Damansara on a PKR ticket. He will face BN’s Halimathon Saadiah Borhan, PAS’ Ridzuan Ismail and three independents – Halmi Omar, Edros Abdullah and A Suppiah.

Thus far, it has been confirmed that PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali had not signed Ridzuan’s authorisation letter to use the party logo in Kota Damansara.

A source told Malaysiakini that Ridzuan’s letter was signed by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang. All other letters were issued by Mustafa.

PKR has an agreement with PSM to make way for the latter in Kota Damansara as long as its candidate uses the PKR logo.
