George Town – In a media statement released today (December 28) Vice Chairman of Penang Hindu Endowment Board Senator A.Lingeshwaran denied media reports on Penang Golden Chariot.
“I read with sadness at the inaccuracies in the report by The Star dated 28.12.23 on the Penang Thaipusam Festival 2024 “Gold and Silver clash again “. Such a headline obviously is to cause disharmony among Hindus in our country. I would like to refute those senseless allegation.We Hindus in the state always strive for unity and this year will be the same. The Penang Hindu Endowments Board and Nattukottai Chettiar Temple trustee have a very cordial relationship. So I urge everyone not to forward this misleading report which is factually inaccurate and stop spreading rumours that can cause intra-religious tensions” Lingeshwaran said in a statement posted on his facebook page.
Lingeshwaran also urged to stop “these irresponsible reporting and spreading of fake news”.
Lingeshwaran also said Penang Hindu Endowment Board Chairman RSN Rayer (Member of Parliament for Jelutong) will issue a joint statement with Nattukottai Chettiar Temple trustee at the soonest.
