JOHOR BAHRU, April 30- Gelang Patah voters should vote for Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Abdul Ghani Othman, who can bring more development to the state from the federal government, Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon said today.
“In Gelang Patah, I said Lim Kit Siang (DAP advisor) had to run from place to place as he had not served (before). We should help relieve him, at age 72, of the burden of having to serve and to be bothered by constituency problems,” he said a meet-the-people and Barisan National (BN) machinery session in Gelang Patah .
Hence, he would recommend Lim to be appointed as a senator “so that he can have a platform and peace of mind to continue to voice views & criticise the government”, he added.
He said the people should help Lim and help themselves by voting for Ghani who could bring even more development to Johor from the federal government.
Ghani, who is Johor Umno chief, is contesting against Kit Siang for the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat in the polls on May 5.
