“Gujaratis are a global community. In true sense you are our cultural ambassadors. This give strength to us,” Modi said while addressing the Indian diaspora.

“I bow to everyone who worked and gave their lives for Gujarat. I assure we will never forget your dreams,” Modi said. Whatever strength God has given us, we will try to fulfill the dreams, Modi added.

Taking a swipe at the UPA and the recent scams, Modi lashed out saying that the misgovernance of some individuals at the top have broken trust of 120 crore Indians and that it was time to re-establish that ‘trust’.

Modi, who has been denied a US visa since 2005 for his alleged role in the 2002 Gujarat riots, last spoke to the Indian diaspora in North America via satellite in March after the Wharton India Economic Forum withdrew an invitation to him to speak following protests from some students and faculty of the University of Pennsylvania.
