May 20- Ahead of the formal talks with his Indian counterpart, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Monday hoped that his visit will lead to increase in mutual strategic trust between the two sides.
The border issue is likely to be discussed between the two nations in the crucial talks on Monday and the Chinese PM said he is looking forward to have a productive discussion with PM Manmohan Singh.
Keqiang on Monday said the main aim of his visit to India is to increase the mutual trust between the two nations.
He termed India an important partner for the region’s development.
Speaking to the press in presence of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh – after he was accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Keqiang said, “…Made India my first visit as India is China’s important neighbour. Both India and China are ancient civilisation, and our ties go back a long way. Hope both sides increase mutual strategic trust.”
