SINGAPORE, May 28- Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam (photo) will make his first state visit to Brunei Darussalam from Tuesday to Thursday.
The visit is at the invitation of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the President and his wife will receive a ceremonial welcome at the Nurul Iman palace.
They will have a joint audience with and will be hosted to a state banquet by the Sultan and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha.
Tan will also meet with senior members of the Bruneian royal family and Cabinet, including Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam.
Tan will visit the Muara Naval Base and a Youth Centre (Pusat Belia) and attend a lunch for Bruneian ministers, deputy ministers and permanent secretaries who have previously studied in Singapore.
The president will also meet with overseas Singaporeans based in Brunei at a dinner reception and visit Singapore Air Force personnel and families based in Brunei.
