KUALA LUMPUR, May 29- The late Tan Sri Ainuddin Wahid have contributed much to the development of the national education system, said Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
The Prime Minister said the deeds made Ainuddin a highly respected educationist, especially when he was Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
“In fact, Ainuddin worked closely with my late father Tun Abdul Razak in developing education in this country,” he told reporters after visiting Ainudin’s family in Taman Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR), Ampang tonight.
Ainuddin,83, who died of old age today will be buried at 10am tomorrow at Jalan Ampang Muslim cemetery.
Najib said the “Ainuddin Wahid Endowment Fund” established by the government with RM10 million fund to finance Phd students at UTM for five years will be implemented this year.
