JUNE 6- Will Smith doesn’t want to make ‘Men in Black 4’.
The ‘After Earth’ actor isn’t keen on reprising his role as Agent J in the alien franchise, insisting that three movies is “enough”.
The actor told Collider.com: “I think three is enough for me. Three of anything is enough for me. We’ll look at it and we’ll consider it, but it feels like it might be time to let someone else do that.”
The actor starred in the first ‘Men in Black’ movie alongside Tommy Lee Jones in 1997 and reprised his role in a 2002 sequel. A third film was released last year – a decade after the first ‘Men in Black’ film – and featured Josh Brolin playing a younger version of Jones’ Agent K.
Smith previously expressed interest in his son Jaden Smith – who co-stars with him in sci-fi blockbuster ‘After Earth’ – taking over the lead role in the franchise.
He said: “If they were interested in that – that’s not something that I’m pushing for or I don’t even know if Jaden is interested, but we’re open.”
Movie studio Sony Pictures recently hired Oren Uziel to pen a script for a proposed fourth film following the success of ‘Men in Black III’, which became the highest grossing movie of the trilogy with a haul of over $600 million worldwide.
