BESUT, July 1- The Kuala Besut Umno division is confident that voters in the Kuala Besut state constituency will return the Barisan Nasional (BN) in the by-election there which will be held soon.
Its information bureau chairman, Datuk Wan Zakaria Abdul Rahman said this was because voters saw the BN government fulfilling its promises made in the 13th general election through various development projects implemented for fishermen in the area.
The Kuala Besut by-election has to be called following the death of its state assemblyman, Dr A Rahman Mokhtar, 55, of lung cancer.
Wan Zakaria said throughout Dr A Rahman’s tenure as state assemblyman in the area, many development projects had been carried out with many more being implemented and planned.
“The voters in Kuala Besut have been throwing their support behind BN as there are many development projects for the people, including fishermen, carried out by the government,” he told reporters here today.
