JULY 3- Appearing on popular TV shows to promote their upcoming films have become a fad among our Bollywood lot. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and director Rohit Shetty were in sync with the trend when they turned out to publicise Chennai Express , their big Eid release, on the sitcom, Comedy Nights With Kapil .
The show helmed by standup comedian Kapil Sharma is based on the global British hit, The Kumars At No. 42 . Naturally, it was an apt platform to hardsell Chennai Express , an action comedy.
Deepika, stunning in a long skirt and embellished blouse, rode onto the set on a scooter with Shah Rukh riding pillion.
Despite having his injured arm in a sling, SRK was energetic as ever. To focus on the Chennai theme of the film, SRK also sipped coconut water and shook a leg with a few kids on the set in typical Madras Cut style.
Aping the formula of the original British hit, Kapil’s show features assorted actors who play out specific roles while entertaining the celebrity guests. Kapil apart, the show also features Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar, Sumona Chakravarti, Upasana Singh and Naseem Vicky.
