NEW DELHI — Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh became husband and wife in two wedding ceremonies full of elaborate traditional Indian rituals.
The couple kept the marriage, held at a venue overlooking Lake Como in Italy on Nov 14 and 15, a private affair, with just a few dozen guests attending the event.
The ceremonies included a traditional Konkani marriage and an Anand Karaj ceremony as per the Sikh tradition, Indian media reported.
Deepika and Ranveer, who have acted together in the movies ‘Ram-Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’, shared their wedding pictures on social media on Thursday.
Wedding guests were reportedly asked to put stickers on the camera lenses on their mobile phones.
The newly-weds plan to host receptions in Deepika’s hometown Bengaluru on Nov 21 and India’s entertainment capital Mumbai on Nov 28, the Indian Express reported.
