KUALA LUMPUR, July 5- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has congratulated President Barack Obama and the people of the United States on the occasion of the country’s 237th anniversary of independence.
He said Malaysia valued highly the close and beneficial relations with the US which had been established for over half a century.
“We are committed to further strengthening our mutual partnership at the bilateral and multilateral levels in addition to exploring new avenues of cooperation,” he said in his message to the US leader.
A copy of Najib’s congratulatory message was made available to Bernama.
The prime minister expressed the hope that the two countries would continue to work together in pursuit of their shared aims and visions for a better world.
