KUALA LUMPUR, July 16- The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today announced a policy prohibiting all staff from accepting or giving gifts.
Its chief executive officer, Datuk Shahril Ridza Ridzuan, said in a statement that the ‘No Gifts Policy’ was to avoid a conflict of interests and to show the EPF’s commitment to accord equal treatment to all individuals and organisations in their dealings with the EPF.
“Outsiders are discouraged from giving gifts in any form to EPF employees, and vice versa, not only during festive seasons but at all times during their dealings with the EPF,” he said.
Shahril Ridza said the policy had been made known to all the 5,200 staff of EPF throughout the country.
He said the EPF was one of the government agencies to come up with this policy first to ensure good corporate governance in line with best business practices.
