JULY 18- Veteran poet and lyricist Vaali, who has been undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Chennai, died on Thursday.
Vaali’s health condition deteriorated further in the last few days and was kept on a ventilator and breathed his last on Thursday.
Vaali, 81, is one of the most respected and revered lyricists, penned lyrics for over 10,000 songs in a career that spans over five decades.
The lyric writer was honoured by the Indian Government by the Padma Shri for his contribution to the field of arts and cinema.
Vaali’s last film that he worked on was Bharatbala’s Maryan that stars Dhanush.
He wrote the lyrics for two songs in the film.
