KUALA LUMPUR, July 24- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today urged the electorate of Kuala Besut to vote for Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman in the state by-election today for a more successful Terengganu.
“By God’s grace, he (Tengku Zaihan) is the most suitable candidate for the future well-being of Kuala Besut,” the prime minister said in a post on his Facebook account.
Najib said Tengku Zaihan, 37, was a young and enthusiastic candidate capable of coming up with new ideas to enhance the quality of life in Kuala Besut.
As the native son of Kuala Besut, Tengku Zaihan would surely want the best for the constituency, he said.
The prime minister said he hoped that the voters would come out early to exercise their right.
He also expressed the hope that polling would be smooth.
The by-election is a straight fight between Tengku Zaihan and Endot alias Azlan Yusof, 48, of PAS.
The seat fell vacant on June 26 following the death of the assemblyman, Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar of BN.
