GEORGE TOWN, July 27- The Health Ministry is still waiting for the investigation report from the Penang government on the allegations that three doctors practised racism and provided poor service to some patients at a government hospital in the state.
Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng had verbally promised to investigate the alleged cases and that information on these would be channelled to the ministry.
“But so far, we’ve only received a report on the matter from Pinang Tunggal assemblyman Datuk Roslan Saidin.
“We will decide on the next course of action when we’ve received the state government’s report,” he said after launching the Hari Raya Festive Season Price Control Scheme at the Bayan Baru main market, here.
At the state assembly sitting early this month, Lim had raised the issue of the alleged racist doctors at a government hospital, followed by Roslan.
However, Roslan, to support the claims contained in his report, had at a recent press conference brought along the patients who alleged having received poor treatment from the doctors involved at two government hospitals in the state.
