PETALING JAYA, Aug 20 – The Sessions Court here Tuesday fixed Sept 20 for the remention of a case involving three male Sukma handball athletes who allegedly raped a female officer of the women’s handball squad last month.
Judge Yasmin Abdul Razak decided on the date after Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Gin Han informed that they had yet to receive forensic, medical and chemical reports on the case.
On July 11, Megat Farzeril Faiz Megat Razali, 19, Mohammad Shaizzad Md Shafie, 19, and Adib Adha Ismail, 18, pleaded not guilty to raping the 20-year-old woman in a room at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, between 4am and 4.l0am on July 4.
Megat Farzeril Faiz was charged with raping the woman at 4am, Mohammad Shaizzad at 4.05am and Adib Adha at 4.10am.
They were charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code which carries a maximum 20 year jail sentence and caning, upon conviction.
Megat Farzeril and Mohammad Shaizzad were represented by counsel Muhammad Fadhli Mat Sutris while Adib Adha was represented by counsel Stephanie Wong.
