KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 – A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter scale struck Santa Cruz Islands at 2.59 am local time this
morning.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department said, in a statement, that the quake epicentre was 33 km south of Lata, Solomon Islands and 5,507 km southeast of Semporna, Sabah. However, there was no tsunami warning issued.
