PETALING JAYA, AUG 27- SK Seri Pristana school’s headmaster Mohd Nasir Mohd Noor picked out a parent from a police line-up today as the man who had allegedly threatened him over recent ‘canteen’ fiasco.

Nasir Mohd Noor fingered V Kumaresan, 32, in an identification parade at the Sungai Buloh district police station at about 3pm today.

A friend of Kumaresan who gave his name as Raj, said when he went to the police station to check in on his friend, he was informed that Kumaresan had been placed under arrest.

Earlier, Kumaresan told FMT that the police came looking for him last Friday at about midnight.

“I was away at the time and I learnt from my family members that they were wanting to talk to me. Fearing for safety, I lodged a police report the following day,” said Kumaresan.

“I don’t know why the police are looking for me. I’ve never met the headmaster. The last time I saw him was when I went to pick up my daughter from the school. That was before the canteen fiasco,” he added.

Kumaresan also said that he was told to present himself at Sungai Buloh police station for an identification parade this morning. He said he was at the station since 10am.

In July, a parent of Seri Pristana posted pictures of her child and other students having their meals in an area next to the toilet, causing an uproar nation over the incident.

Released on police bail

Speaking to FMT, the secretary of Malaysian Tamilan Today Welfare Association K Gunasekaran said Kumaresan was granted bail after the former had a discussion with police officers.

He questioned as to why the police were specifically targeting Kumaresan when there were more than 18 police reports lodged over the canteen-in-changing room issue – lodged by various parents and by Mohd Nasir.

“The police must tell us what has happened to all the police reports lodged against the headmaster,” he added.

Last week Gunasekaran and his NGO had submitted a memorandum against the headmaster to the Education Ministry, urging immediate action against him.
