KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 – Touch ‘n’ Go Sdn Bhd (TNGSB), an electronic payment systems provider, is targeting the sale of two million cards this year against the 1.3 million sold in 2012, mainly driven by the increment in the penetration rate.
TNGSB Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Karim Md. Lassim said the increment in the penetration showed more customers were now aware of the e-payment system, while ready and more confident of adopting and using it.
“We are also confident of achieving this target with highways coming up, and have been always ready in the area of the Light Rail Transit (LRT), which more customers are now using.
“Other initiatives in the pipeline include, increasing reload centres to for the convenience of customers. Touch ‘n’ Go has 6,000 reload centres all over Malaysia,” he told reporters at the event to present cheques to charity homes, here today.
Meanwhile, TNGSB distributed RM10,000 each to three charity homes to mark the end of its Touch ‘n’ Go Cares special design card sales. The Touch ‘n’ Go Cares, cause-related marketing program, was launched in July last year with TNGSB offering 10,000 pieces of the specially designed cards to customers at RM10 each.
For each card sold, RM3 was collected in a charity fund to be equally divided amongst the three charity homes, namely Darul Ukhwah, Pusat Jagaan Nur Hasanah and Yayasan Chow Kit.
