SEPT 6- It seems for Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, change begins with the company logo. And now after a month of teaser logos, the struggling internet giant on midnight stuck to this one below.
“We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots (whimsical, purple, with an exclamation point) yet embraced the evolution of our products,” said company’s Chief Marketing Officer Kathy Savitt on the Yahoo blog.
There is even an accompanying video on the logo’s blueprint and its birth.
The finalization follows an announcement by Kathy 30 days ago on the company introducing a new logo in September.
She said the redesign was part of changes and new products the company had introduced – such as new ways to see “the weather, read email, share photos, and favorite sports teams”.
She said yahoo had also partnered with artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, John Legend, and Imagine Dragons and joined Tumblr.
