MARANG, Sept 10 – Eighty-five percent of 1,019 Umno branches in Terengganu have completed their meetings to elect the heads and committee members.
State Umno election committee chairman Datuk Muda Mamat said the other 15 percent branches yet to hold meetings have to do so before midnight Sept 15.
“One or Youth and Puteri branches will have to call for another meeting as the previous meetings are invalid due to lack of quorum.
“I have not received any information about invalid Umno branch meetings due to lack of quorum,” he told Bernama here today.
Muda said candidates vying for divisional posts should file application at the State Umno office on Sept 21.
Terengganu has eight Umno divisions and 1,023 branches of which 1,019 are eligible to hold meetings to elect the leadership for 2013/14.
The national Wanita, Youth and Puteri Umno elections will be held on Oct 12 while the divisional and Supreme Council elections will be held on Oct 19.
