SEPT 25- Anil Ambani has teamed up with Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and Senior vice-president (production) at National Geographic Channel Juliet Blake to produce a film, The Hundred-Foot Journey.
The movie revolves around the culinary fight between an Indian and a French family and is based on a best- selling book by Richard C. Morais. It stars Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren, Manish Dayal and Om Puri.
The film is being helmed by Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom, who has been behind movies such as My Life as a Dog , The Cider House Rules , Chocolat and many ABBA videos. The shooting of the film has already begun in France.
The movie narrates the story of the Kadam family. Displaced from their native India, the Kadam family, led by the father (Puri), settles in a village in the south of France.
The village looks like the ideal place to settle down for the Kadam family who open an Indian restaurant, until their encounter with chef proprietress of Le Saule Pleureur, a classical French restaurant run by Madame Mallory (Mirren).
DreamWorks is set to release the film on August 8, 2014.
