London, Oct 18 – Britain’s Prince of Wales will hold meetings with senior business leaders during his upcoming visit to India next month, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

The meetings will focus on Prince Charles’s interest in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and work already being done in the field by one of his  charities, the British Asian Trust.

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) head Mukesh Ambani, who chairs the India-based Advisory Council of the trust, is likely to be among those taking part in the meetings.

“It is early days yet and we will release further details closer to the trip but Prince Charles is scheduled to engage with senior business leaders and the focus will be on CSR,” a spokesman for Clarence House, Prince Charles’ official residence in London, told reporters on Thursday.

“He visit highlights the importance of the UK-India relationship and the prince’s role is to enhance that relationship and the work that governments do,” he said.

Prince Charles and wife Camilla Parker-Bowles will visit Dehradun, New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kochi from Nov 6 to 14 as part of what has been described as their most extensive visit to India.

Some of their activities include an off-road trip to the “elephant corridor” in Kerala, a visit to the Doon School and a gala dinner in Mumbai with a Bollywood flavour.

The couple, who have previously visited India twice, will proceed to Sri Lanka to attend the 2013 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) from Nov 14 to 16.

Prince Charles is representing Queen Elizabeth II at this year’s CHOGM.
