Kuala Lumpur, Nov 8 – A teenage boy who insulted Islam by putting up an offensive status regarding Allah on his Facebook page was arrested in Bandar Hilir, Melaka, yesterday evening.
Dang Wangi police chief, ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said the 17-year-old was taken to the Dang Wangi district police headquarters for his statement to be recorded under Section 4(1)(b) of the Sedition Act 1948, after he was detained at 3pm.
The teenager was released on police bail at midnight, he said when contacted by Bernama here.
According to him, the suspect, who lives in Petaling Jaya, had dropped out of school two years ago and was fond of playing computer games.
