KOTA BAHARU, Feb 12- The federal government will continue to build and maintain mosques in Kelantan so that the people in the state get to enjoy better facilities for religious activities, said Kelantan Umno liaison
chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.
He said this was not simply a promise by the federal government but its responsibility in the development of the spirituality.
“We (the federal government) have built 27 mosques throughout the state since 2008 apart from repairing and upgrading about 100 mosques, which cost millions of ringgit,” he told reporters after handing over financial aid for the construction of the Mukim Mentuan Mosque in Kubang Kerian, here, last night.
During the event, the mosque’s junior imam Abdul Ghafar Hussin, received a cheque for M500,000 from Mustapa to finish the mosque’s construction which is 75 per cent completed.
