Kuala Lumpur, Jan 3 – RapidKL’ bus and rail services in the city will be extended to provide transport for city folk and tourists attending the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 official launch at Dataran Merdeka this Saturday.
Prasarana Negara Berhad’s Communication and Strategic Marketing Group Executive Vice President Lim Jin Aun said in a statement today that the LRT and Monorail services will extended until 1am Sunday.
“Under the extension of services, the integrated stations of Masjid Jamek and Hang Tuah, and monorail stations of Medan Tuanku and Titiwangsa will be opened up to 1am,” he said.
Meanwhile, RapidKL bus services will be extended for another half an hour after the rail service extension to provide transport covenience for city dwellers.
According to Lim, the bus routes that would have the extended service were Route U64 (Taman Sri Muda-pasar Seni Hub (PSH), Route U66 (Taman Medan-PSH), Route U68 (Sri Manja/Sentosa-PSH), Route U70 (Puchong Prima-PSH), Route U88 (Kota Damansara-PSH), Route U22 (Sri Nilam-Jalan Hang Lekiu), Route U40 (Terminal Kajang-Mydin Sinar Kota,Jalan Tun Perak), Route U23 (Taman Melawati-Lebuh Ampang via Mindef), Route U224 (Bandar Kota Senu-Kotaraya) and Route U66 between Taman Jasa Utama-Medan Pasar.
He said it was best for commuters to travel with MyRapid cards for a smooth passage at the stations, and ensure that the cards were reloaded at the entry stations.
