Los Angeles, Feb 24- She is the most beautiful woman on the planet. A poll has said she is also the most bankable star in the world. Her chief rival in her personal life Jennifer Aniston stands at a distant fourth place.
Hollywood heartthrob Angelina Jolie is the highest-paid movie actress, with an earning of $33 million in 2013.
According to eonline.com, the Oscar winner was the top-earning female actress, according to figures in a report compiled by the Women’s Media Center, IANS said.
“Jolie is the only woman making bank for playing action heroes,” says Forbes, describing the actor’s worth, “Salt, which was originally written for Tom Cruise, brought in $300 million on a budget of $110 million. Her other movie from 2010, The Tourist, earned 75% of its $280 million box office overseas,” it had added.
Jennifer Lawrence was second with $26 million, followed by Kristen Stewart ($21.5 million), Aniston ($20 million) and Emma Stone ($16 million).
Among the male actors, Robert Downey Jr. has topped the list with an earning of $75 million. Following him is Channing Tatum with $60 million, while Hugh Jackman was next with $55 million, and they are followed by Mark Wahlberg with $51 million.
Then there is Dwayne Johnson, ahead of Leonardo DiCaprio, Adam Sandler, Tom Cruise, Denzel Washington and Liam Neeson, who rounded off the top 10 names among the men.
However, there is a twist in the tale. The Daily Mail has said, “Hollywood may like to boast of its liberal ideals but it is still a man’s world in many ways.”
“Not only are women dramatically under-represented on screen and behind the scenes, but even the most successful female stars are paid significantly less than men,” it added.
