Originally, the Project Ara was announced by the Motorola with the aim of making modular phones in October, 2013. In January, 2014, Google sold its mobile business to Lenovo but didn’t let Project Ara go with the deal. It is still under the world’s biggest search engine.

Now, Internet is abuzz with a Time’s report that has revealed fresh details about the project and Google’s plans to make modular phone a reality very soon. In fact, the report suggests that the modular phone could be available by first quarter of 2015. And, it is going to be cheaper than the most smartphones too.

The Google wants to do to hardware what Android has done to software. So, get ready to make your smartphone look and feel the way you want. And, with changeable hardware elements, Project Ara will also allow you to change parts of the phone with ease.

When the project was announced, the Motorola was working with Dave Hakkens, the creator of the Phonebloks concept. With Phonebloks concept, the idea of modular phone has come up.
