Putrajaya, March 15 – The Public Service Department (JPA) has advised media practitioners not to ask sensitive questions to family members of MH370 passengers and crew.
Its deputy director of Psychology Management Department, Dr Abdul Jalil Hassan said questions about feelings and planning would only add to the grief being felt.
“They can ask question such as ‘How can my writing help and rewrite the article if necessary,” he told reporters in Hotel Everly, here Saturday.
All parties should be a friend by listening, motivating and staying with the family members if needed as what was being done by the counselors and volunteers.
“Normally, their emotion will become stable after three days. Their appetite for food will return and they can talk without crying.”
Abdul Jalil said family members who had gone home could still contact the counselors from the Social Welfare Department if they want to share their feelings.
