New Delhi, April 14 – Microsoft has started releasing the Windows Phone 8.1 for the devices of developers. A couple of weeks ago, the tech giant had announced details regarding the new update at its Build Conference.

For now, it will be available to the registers Windows Phone developers only. General users may be able to get Windows Phone 8.1 updates after few months.
Cortana digital assistant is among the new features coming to Windows Phone 8.1. Though, most of Windows Phone 8.1 features will be available worldwide except the Cortana.

You can use voice commands to search for information, set alarms and make calendar entries, for instance. Although Android devices have had Google Now since 2012, and iPhones and iPads come with Siri and can get a free Google Now app, Windows phones haven’t had as robust a voice assistant until now.
Apart from the much-talked about Cortana, the Windows Phone 8.1 update will bring other important features to the Microsoft phone operating system. It will bring updated UI with custom lockscreen, tile backgrounds and updated security.
