JITRA, May 1 — Police have detected more individuals in a number of states suspected of being involved in militant activities, said Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar (pic). He said police would be conducting operations to nab the individuals involved.
There are more (suspects)…we will make an announcement when we have arrested them,” he said when met after the Workers’ Day celebration at Dewan Wawasan, here, today.
On April 28, nine suspected militants were detained by police from the Counter-Terrorism Division, Special Branch, Bukit Aman federal police headquarters.
The nine, including a woman, are aged between 22 and 55. Three of them were arrested in Kedah and the other six in Selangor.
Another suspected militant was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on April 29, bringing the total number arrested so far to 10.
