Prime Ministers of Malaysia, Singapore to meet at leaders retreat, beginning today

SINGAPORE, Feb 18 – Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be in Singapore on Monday and Tuesday, for the Leaders’ Retreat beginning today and Tuesday, with his Singaporean counterpart, Lee Hsien Loong. In a statement, the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Najib would visit Singapore from Feb 18 to 19.

It said the annual leaders’ retreat was a key bilateral platform for the prime ministers to drive relations forward. Lee and wife will host a private dinner for Najib and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor this evening.
The prime ministers and their ministerial delegations will meet tomorrow morning for bilateral discussions. In the afternoon, the prime ministers will make site visits to the joint ventures by Temasek Holdings Pte Ltd and Khazanah Nasional Bhd in Singapore and in Iskandar Malaysia.

A013115282In Singapore, they will unveil the Marina One project in Marina Bay and receive an update on the DUO project in Ophir-Rochor, both mixed-use developments. They will then travel to Iskandar Malaysia where they will unveil the UrbanWellness and Resort Wellness projects in Medini, and do a ground-breaking for the Urban Wellness project. The Singapore delegation includes the Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean and several Cabinet Ministers.
