KUALA LUMPUR, June 17 – Two PKR Members of Parliament – N. Surendran (Padang Serai) and Fuziah Salleh (Kuantan) – were ordered out of the Dewan Rakyat sitting today for disobeying the order of Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
Both of them were also suspended from attending the Dewan Rakyat sitting for two days.
Fuziah was ordered out after she questioned the Speaker’s decision to reject the motion to discuss the issue of Temporary Occupation Licence (TOL) related to the Lynas project.
While Pandikar was giving his explanation, Surendran interjected and urged the Speaker to explain why the motion was rejected.
When Surendran repeatedly disobeyed the Speaker’s order for him to sit down, Pandikar said:
“Yang Berhormat Padang Serai, I’m the one who makes decision here.
“I know when you stand up to move a petition, you will have to cite Point of Order 14(f).
“Since both of you, Padang Serai and Kuantan MPs, refused to obey my order,I’m ordering you to leave the Dewan now,” he said, causing a little commotion in the hall.
This was the fourth time Surendran was thrown out during the Dewan Rakyat sitting and he had just resumed duty yesterday after being suspended for six months since November last year.
