URUMQI, June 22 — Thirteen mobsters were killed and three policemen injured early Saturday in an attack on a police station in China’s far western Xinjiang region, Xinhua news agency reports.
The group rammed their vehicle into the public security bureau building in Yecheng County in southern Xinjiang, setting off explosives.
Police shot dead all attackers and a few policemen were slightly injured. The regional information office said no civilians were hurt in the incident.
