SHAH ALAM, Aug 9- Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said he had asked that Parti Keadilan Rakyat’s (PKR) Disciplinary Board delay its hearing on claims of wrongdoing and suggested it be held on Aug 15.

“The letter was sent this morning and because of the time constraint, I have asked that if need be, the hearing be held on Aug 15.”I am now waiting for a response (from the PKR Disciplinary Board). I will download the contents of the letter for public viewing,” he told reporters after attending an audience with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah with staff of the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (JAIS) at the Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, here today.

He was commenting on the decision by the party’s Disciplinary Board that he attend the hearing session at the PKR headquarters this afternoon. Abdul Khalid said he would not be attending the hearing session as he had a meeting with the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Abdul Wahid Omar.

“I will not go for the meeting this afternoon as I have a meeting with Abdul Wahid to discuss the Eleventh Malaysia Plan (RMK-11),” he said. The hearing session was for Abdul Khalid to clarify the restructuring of the Selangor water industry; the Menteri Besar’s new allowance; the increase in business licence; his loan with Bank Islam and the proposed Kinrara-Damansara (Kidex) Expressway.

Abdul Khalid had earlier been given a show cause letter by the disciplinary board for ignoring PKR’s decision to appoint a new Menteri Besar for Selangor.Meanwhile, he denied there was a statutory declaration for all elected representatives including state exco members from PKR to support Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail who was also PKR President for the post of Menteri Besar.

“It doesn’t matter…this is normal (in politics). There are too many false letters,” Khalid, who is also state assemblyman for Pelabuhan Klang, said. The statutory declaration was reported to ask PKR elected representatives to give their support to Wan Azizah who was also Kajang state assemblyman, as the new  Selangor Menteri Besar.
