KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has extended condolences to the family of Datuk Noor Zahidi Omar, the Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblyman for Pengkalan Kubor, Kelantan, who died Wednesday.
“Condolences to the family of Datuk Noor Zahidi Omar, Pengkalan Kubor assemblyman, who passed away this morning. May God bless his soul. Al-Fatihah,” Najib said in a post on his Twitter account.
Noor Zahidi died of liver cancer at a hospital in Guangzhou, China, at 5.45 am. He was 57.He was the third-term assemblyman for Pengkalan Kubor and had been serving as the Tumpat Umno chief for the fourth term.
In the general election held last year, Noor Zahidi beat Saharun Ibrahim of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) by a majority of 1,736 votes to retain the seat for the BN.
