KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on Wednesday expressed his appreciation for those who took various measures to improve Malaysia’s global competitiveness ranking.
“Alhamdullilah (Praise be to God), we are the 20th most competitive economy!“We climbed up four ranks thanks to our collective effort,” he said in his latest post on Twitter.
Najib retweeted a report by Bernama entitled ‘Malaysia Climbs Four Notches on Global Competitiveness Ranking’ based on the Global Competitiveness Report 2014-2015.
According to the report, Malaysia’s ranking in global competitiveness improved to 20th position among 144 economies, ahead of developed economies such as Austria, Australia, France and South Korea.
Malaysia Productivity Corp director-general Datuk Mohd Razali Hussain said the country was ranked 24th out of 148 countries last year.
