KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 4- Five Federal Territory Wanita MIC members are deemed to have resigned from the state council committee after failing to attend four consecutive council meetings.
They are G. Thanalakshmy (Batu Division), N. Letchumi (Seputeh Division),S.Rathnaswari (Setiawangsa Division), V. Saratha (Bandar Tun Razak Division) and S. Anjalai (Kepong Division).
Federal Territory Wanita MIC chief S.Kogilam said the five also failed to attend 2014 women section annual general meeting without any explanation or
reasons.”This unanimous decision was made during the State Women Liaison Council Meeting on Aug 29 which called for action against the five women, who are also
division women leaders.
“This is done according to the MIC Wanita Section By-Law 2003-By-Law 53,that states any member absent from three consecutive meetings without satisfactory explanation or valid reason, shall be deemed to have automaticaly resigned from that council,” she said in a statement here, today.
Kogilam added the five women have been issued an official letter on the decision made by the council, in order to prevent the ‘seat warming culture’ and bring transformation in the women’s wing.
