KOTA BAHARU, Sept 5- Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is confident that the Selangor leadership crisis will not affect its chances in the Pengkalan Kubor by-election on Sept 25.
Its Youth deputy chief, Dr Afif Bahardin said this was because the voters there would not be focusing on the crisis in Selangor although the issue would be highlighted during the by-election campaign.
“We believe the voters in Pengkalan Kubor will focus more on local issues which are closer to their hearts,” he said after a meeting with PAS Youth leaders, here, today.Afif said although PKR would be facing some tough challenges this time, it would be handling these with the strength of its election machinery.
He said the Pengkalan Kubor state seat by-election would also be a test ground for PKR’s strength and commitment to the opposition coalition’s cause.Afif said 45 per cent of the voters in Pengkalan Kubor were young people and this would be a challenge for the PKR Youth machinery in getting their support.
